July 2005 On July 4, 2005, UBC ‘received the keys’ to Okanagan University College’s 105 hectare (260 acre) North Kelowna campus and Okanagan College was officially established as a separate entity with its own network of campuses in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and other regional communities.

March 2004     In March 2004, the BC Ministry of Advanced Education announced a plan to create a campus of the University of British Columbia in the Okanagan, by transitioning Okanagan University College into two new entities and assigning OUC’s North Kelowna campus to UBC.
