UBCcard
The UBCcard is your official Okanagan campus identification. This card carries your employee number for library and photocopy purposes.
UBCcard at a glance
- Cardholder's name
- Cardholder's colour photo
- Department
- Issue date*
* Placement on your UBCcard may vary, depending on the date of issue.
Student Services create UBCcards in UNC206 during open hours.
Due to reduced availability from 12 noon to 2 p.m., it is recommended that faculty and staff visit the Student Services front desk outside of these times.
This wide stripe carries your employee number. You can swipe your card through a photocopier card reader and proceed to enter your pin.- This thin stripe is for students' cards. It enables students to load cash, photocopy, and pay-for-print. Both of the magnetized stripes can be demagnetized if they rub against another card in your wallet or if the card is left near a magnet. Once the stripes are demagnetized, all information regarding identification is permanently lost.
- This is where students' U-Pass stickers should be placed. If the sticker is placed too close to the magnetic stripe, the card will not function properly.
- This bar code gives you access to library and interlibrary loan services. If the bar code will not scan, the library staff can manually enter the numbers below. Faculty and staff will be entered into the database the first time they use any library services.
